The day I brought it home.

As it is now.

This is my 1957 chevy truck. I have had it for almost two years now. When I got it, it was the original green color with a light covering of rust. However I was very fortunate. None of the rust was anything more than paint deep. None of it had broken through the metal. The only spots on it where there are holes are in the back lower edge corner of the passenger side of the cab and on the bottom of the doors. I have been waiting on fixing the rust until I found a body shop I like that is reasonably priced. |

When I got it, everything was in absolutly perfect running order. It still has the original 235 inline six with the three on the column shifter with the factory overdrive and 456 pozie rear end. I have wanted to pump the six up as much as possible but not make it a drag motor. It still has the push button starter on the floor and deluxe heater under the dash and they both still work. When I first got it, it took a while to figure out how to start it but I quickly learned. |

If you have any information on a supplier where I can find parts for the 235 please let me know. |
| I have recently made a decision to do all the paint and body work myself. I am going to do a two tone paint job. From the fender lines up it will be that new burnt orange that ford has on their new trucks and from the fender lines down it will be a dark grey or silver similar to pewter. And when that is done I am going to see if I can get a friend of mine to do some type of pinstriping to break it up and finish it off. I want to do a grey leather Rich Santana interior with vintage air and all that good stuff. If anyone has any suggestions about colors please let me know. Now I have heard that silver doesn't last and if you have any knowledge about that I would appreciate the info. |
